Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Loomtide collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to every app and game published by Loomtide on Google Play and the Apple App Store, and to the loomtide.ai website.

01Who we are and what this covers

Loomtide ("Loomtide", "we", "us", or "our") publishes mobile apps and games and builds the Game Factory, a production pipeline for game studios. We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

This policy covers:

  • Our apps and games: every title published under the Loomtide developer account on Google Play and the Apple App Store (together, the "Apps").
  • Our website: loomtide.ai and its subpages (the "Site").

Some Apps use only part of what is described below. For example, an App with no sign-in collects no account information, and an App with no ads uses no advertising partners. The data safety section on Google Play and the App Privacy label on the App Store describe what each individual App does.

02Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Account information. If an App offers sign-in, we may receive your email address, a display name, and a player identifier from the sign-in provider you choose (for example Sign in with Apple, Google Play Games Services, or Game Center). Some providers let you hide your email address; we honour that choice.
  • Game progress. If an App offers cloud save, we store your progress, settings, and in-game inventory linked to your account so you can continue on another device.
  • Support messages. When you contact us, we keep your message and the address you sent it from so we can reply.
  • Site forms. If you apply to be a design partner on the Site, we store the email address you enter.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and app information. Device model, operating system and version, language, region, screen size, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier.
  • Usage and gameplay events. Sessions, levels played, features used, progression milestones, and in-app events that help us understand how the App is played.
  • Diagnostics. Crash reports, error logs, and performance data such as load times and frame rates.
  • Approximate location. A country or region derived from your IP address. We do not request precise location from your device.
  • Advertising identifier. On iOS, the Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) only if you allow tracking when asked. On Android, the Google Advertising ID unless you have opted out of ads personalisation or deleted the identifier in your device settings.

Purchases

In-app purchases are processed by Apple or Google. We receive a confirmation of the purchase (product, time, and a transaction identifier) so we can deliver what you bought and handle refunds and support. We never receive your payment card number or billing details.

03How we use information

  • To run the Apps and the Site, including saving your progress and delivering purchases.
  • To fix bugs, crashes, and performance problems.
  • To understand how the Apps are used so we can improve them, for example which levels are too hard or where players stop.
  • To show advertising in Apps that are ad-supported, and to measure that advertising.
  • To respond to your support requests and design-partner applications.
  • To detect fraud, cheating, and abuse, and to keep the Apps secure.
  • To comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (running the App you chose to use), our legitimate interests (improving, securing, and funding the Apps), your consent (personalised advertising and tracking, where required), and compliance with legal obligations.

04Third-party services

Our Apps include software development kits (SDKs) from third parties. These partners collect some of the information described above directly from your device and process it under their own privacy policies. Depending on the App, they may include:

Advertising

Analytics and crash reporting

Platform services

Advertising partners may combine information collected in our Apps with information from other apps and sites to show you ads that are more relevant to you. Section 05 explains how to limit this.

05Advertising and your choices

Some Apps are free because they show ads. You can limit personalised advertising at any time:

  • iOS. We ask for permission before tracking, using Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You can change your answer under Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Tracking. You can also turn off Personalised Ads under Settings, then Privacy & Security, then Apple Advertising.
  • Android. Open Settings, then Google, then Ads (the exact path varies by device) to delete your advertising ID or opt out of ads personalisation.
  • In the App. Where an App offers a privacy or consent settings screen, you can review and change your advertising choices there.

If you turn off personalised advertising you will still see ads, but they will not be based on your activity across other apps and websites.

06When we share information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only in these cases:

  • With the service providers and partners listed in section 04, to the extent needed to provide advertising, analytics, crash reporting, sign-in, cloud save, and purchases.
  • With Apple and Google as the operators of the app stores and payment systems.
  • For legal reasons, when required by law, subpoena, or court order, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Loomtide, our players, or others.
  • In a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, in which case this policy will continue to apply to your information.

Some privacy laws (for example the California Consumer Privacy Act) treat the collection of advertising identifiers by ad partners as "sharing" or "targeted advertising". You can opt out using the device settings described in section 05.

07Data retention

  • Account and cloud save data is kept while your account exists and deleted within 30 days of an account deletion request.
  • Usage, gameplay, and diagnostic data is kept in identifiable form for up to 26 months, after which it is deleted or aggregated so it no longer identifies you.
  • Support messages are kept for up to 24 months after the last reply.
  • Design-partner applications are kept until the program closes or you ask us to remove your email, whichever comes first.
  • Purchase records are kept as long as required for tax, accounting, and refund handling.

Our third-party partners keep data according to their own retention schedules, which are described in their policies.

08Deleting your account and data

To delete your account and the data linked to it, use the "Delete account" option in the App's settings where available, or email contact@loomtide.ai with the subject "Delete my account". Include the name of the App and the sign-in method or email you used, so we can find the right account.

We confirm every request, complete the deletion within 30 days, and tell you when it is done. Deleting your account permanently removes your progress, purchases that are not restorable through the store, and any cloud save. We may keep purchase records where the law requires it.

If you used an App without creating an account, uninstalling it removes the data stored on your device. You can also ask us to delete the diagnostic and usage data linked to your installation identifier by emailing us the App name and, where possible, the identifier shown in the App's settings or about screen.

09Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you and receive a copy.
  • Correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
  • Delete your personal information.
  • Object to or restrict certain processing, including direct marketing.
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, without affecting processing that happened before.
  • Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information and targeted advertising.
  • Not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.
  • Lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. In the EU, you can find yours at edpb.europa.eu; in the UK it is the Information Commissioner's Office.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@loomtide.ai. We may ask you to verify your identity before acting on a request, and we respond within the time required by applicable law (normally 30 days, or 45 days under California law). You may also use an authorised agent to make a request on your behalf.

10Children's privacy

Our Apps are intended for a general audience and are not directed at children under 13 (or under the age at which parental consent is required in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us at contact@loomtide.ai and we will delete it.

If any future App is designed for children, we will publish a separate notice for it and follow the children's privacy rules of each store.

11Security

We protect information in transit with encryption (HTTPS/TLS) and restrict access to data on our systems to people who need it to do their job. No system is perfectly secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we act quickly on any suspected breach and notify you and regulators where the law requires it.

12International transfers

Our systems and partners operate in several countries, including the United States, so your information may be processed outside the country where you live. Where the GDPR or UK GDPR applies, we rely on adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission or the UK government for such transfers.

13The loomtide.ai website

The Site does not use analytics scripts, advertising trackers, or cookies. If you submit the design-partner form, we store the email address you enter, the time of submission, and your browser's user-agent string on a database hosted by a cloud provider, and we use them only to contact you about the design-partner program. You can ask us to remove your application at any time.

14Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our Apps, partners, or the law change. The dates at the top show when it took effect and when it was last updated. For significant changes we will also notify you in the App or by email where we have one. Continued use of the Apps or Site after a change means you accept the updated policy.
